Goodbye...Hello!

Well dear friends we are packing our virtual bags and moving our blog. This blog has been good to us but it's time to move on to bigger and better as we grow and begin to offer you even more! We hope you'll join us over there!

OUR NEW BLOG

Just Peachy!

Hello! Megan of the Sunday Girls here rolling out another new feature for our blog. We thought we'd share with you recipes that we find that we just love.

This past weekend my husband, son and I went to visit his parents in Delaware and while out for a drive stumbled across a U-Pick peach farm! Even though the temperature was in the 100's we decided to get out and pick a few to give the little guy a fun experience. And he sure did love it. The only problem was he picked two kinds of peaches, the green ones on the trees or the rotten ones on the ground. He's two, so he's still learning.

Here's some of our peaches!

Once we got home with our bushel of peaches I remembered we were leaving on Friday for two weeks down in the Outer Banks and even though we all do love eating peaches, well, that's a lot of peaches. So off to my trusty google search page to find a peach cobbler recipe.

I found one on the Food Network by Paula Deen and decided to give it a try. Of course being a Paula Deen recipe it's full of the yumminess that is sugar and butter.

It was a pretty simple recipe although I cut it in half since there are only three of us here.

After boiling the sliced peaches in water and sugar,

You add it to a baking dish that has melted butter and a flour, sugar, milk mixture in it. You spoon the peaches on top and gently pour the juice over it and pop it in the oven for 30-45 minutes!

Here it is fresh from the oven, see the bubbly goodness? Mmmmm....

Of course we served it up tonight with some vanilla ice cream!

Yummy!

Keep reading for the recipe!

And do you know the perfect place to serve some peach cobbler? How about an end of the summer bash! We've got the perfect invitation for you!

Paula Deen's Peach Cobbler
Ingredients

* 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
* 2 cups sugar, divided
* 1/2 cup water
* 8 tablespoons butter
* 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* Ground cinnamon, optional

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.

Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

We've been busy here at Sunday Girls Designs coming up with some new ideas! The one we worked on last weekend was printable party tags. Each set comes with 4 designs and will be sent to you as a pdf file that you can print as many times as you want! It is customized with the name of the person the party is for as well as the date if it's a shower or age if it's a birthday.

You will need the following to create these tags at home:
Adobe Reader*
2" Scallop or Circle Punch
White Cardstock

(*To open the PDF file you will need Adobe Reader, which is a free download at adobe.com)

The cost of these is $10 a sheet and if you want different wording or colors than that would be $3 more. They also coordinate to invitations already in our shop!

Sunday Girls Throw A....Beach Bridal Shower!

Photobucket

This month's party feature is designed around a beach theme. With spring here and summer around the corner it will be a popular theme. When searching for items to use in this blog the etsy community really came through! We found some amazing stuff and wish we had a party to throw right now so we could use it. Since we don't, we hope you do!

Let's start, as always, with the invitation.

We created this cute one with a pink and orange color scheme accented with clam shells and starfish.

When the bride arrives help her to stand out with this adorable corsage made of cay cay shells! It comes from the etsy shop Creative Bridal.

What's a bridal shower without games? We found a game about being a housewife in the 1950's! What fun! It comes from the fun shop of Print Your Party!

For centerpieces you can put together a vase of flowers and add these beautiful seashell stems. The etsy shop these came from is magartsypartycrafts. Check them out!

Now let's talk about the food. These sand dollar cookies made by the Plum Island Cookie Company are divine! You can also just buy a plain white three tier cake and decorate them with these edible chocolate shells from Leslie's Likeables.

A fruity summer cooler is the perfect drink for a summer shower. And this pineapple chicken salad pita makes a yummy, yet light sandwich! You can also serve mini crabcakes on a small roll and even a shrimp salad on a croissant!

And of course we can't forget the favors! And what's cuter than a seashell shaped soap! The etsy shop Fairyland Bazaar has some great options for that!

One reminder that our etsy sellers are very busy and if you click on the product link and find that it's sold please visit their shop. Once an item is sold it is usually relisted.

Coming up next month is a graduation party!
